Snack Bar Sub Guidelines (or the steps to take to hire a sub):
- Come to the snack bar during open hours and sign up in the blue binder labeled Team Shifts/Sub Sign Ups. There are 2 available spots for subs for each shift. If both spots are filled then no more subs can be hired. If there is an emergency or extreme need you can talk with Sam Smith or Brandi Hartman, the volunteer snack bar managers, who should be on sight and they can assist you, as there are a few “adult” subs that may be available.
- After you sign up, if you do not already have an approved sub in mind, you can look at the approved sub list and the sub applications for availability, which are located in that binder in alphabetical order. It is the parent hiring the subs responsibility to contact the sub, confirm availability, and pay the sub. Please note: If on the day of the shift the sub hired does not show up the responsibility falls of the parent who signed up to hire the sub to cover the shift. The snack bar has trained all the subs on the list and they are aware that if they do not follow the guidelines set forth for them, returning phone calls and showing up for shifts included, they can and will be removed from the approved list.
- ONLY subs on the approved list can be hired to work in the snack bar. This includes teenagers working for their own families. If your teenager attended training then they can work for you, but if they did not then they cannot.
- SUBS CANNOT BE HIRED TO WORK A BBQ SHIFT
Hopefully this answers any questions regarding the process of hiring subs – we still encourage you to switch with other parents on your team if your shift does not work for you, before immediately hiring a sub, but understand that there are circumstances that require a sub to be hired. We understand that you want to watch as much of your child’s baseball games as possible, because we are both parents of 2 players each in Arden Little League as well and ask for your understanding in the fact that we are just volunteering our time as well.
