2010 Snack Bar Guidelines

The Arden Little League snack bar is a for profit enterprise and the principal fundraising activity for the Arden Little League. While many leagues have additional fundraisers which require many hours of parent participation and support, Arden families are fortunate to have a successful snack bar operation which requires only a few hours of participation per family each season. Snack Bar revenues help keep registration fees low.

  • Working the snack bar is not optional. Each team is responsible for staffing the snack bar during the season.
  • One adult worker from each team scheduled to play (home team from 1st set of games on Saturday only for T-ball, no other shifts for T-ball required) is required each shift.
  • Shifts can be split between different adults on the team if so desired.
  • Substitutes may be contacted from approved sub list located in the snack bar and arrangements and payment are made between the sub and the parents needing the shift covered ($8/hr is the recommend rate). The snack bar will not be involved in this process other than providing the approved sub contact information.
  • Families may not hire substitutes not on the approved list. (to recommend someone for the approved list please contact Samantha Smith)
  • If you plan on having your teenage children work an assigned shift, please notify Samantha Smith via email. (these children are expected to act responsibly and will be allowed as long as at least one adult is working that shift)
  • Failure of a team to properly staff the snack bar will result in possible forfeiture of the team’s game.
  • One free drink (excluding Icee’s) per shift is provided to snack bar workers. All other food must be purchased.
  • Snack tickets are worth $1.00. Change is not given for snack tickets.

No one other than the shift workers, duty officer or approved snack bar managers are allowed in the snack bar during a shift. Children (other than those working a shift) are never allowed in the snack bar during a shift. For your convenience, all shifts coincide with your game times.

Shifts are as follows:

Monday thru Friday:

  • 20 minutes prior to scheduled game time until all games are complete and snack bar closing procedures have been completed.

Saturday & Sunday:

  • Opening shift is 20 minutes prior to schedule game start and ends when the next shift arrives (should be 15 minutes prior to their scheduled game start).
  • Closing shift is 15 minutes prior to scheduled game start time and ends when all games are completed and snack bar closing procedures have been completed.
  • All other shifts are 15 minutes prior to scheduled game start time and end when the next shift arrives. (should be 15 minutes prior to their scheduled game start time). On Saturdays these shifts will also require one person to run the BBQ and this will be assigned equally among teams by the concessions director.
