All-Stars Announcements and End of Season Picnic, June 15th

Come celebrate with us as we announce our Junior and Major All-Star Teams for 2010!!!

We will also be celebrating the end to a great season at Arden Little League!! We will be having a picnic, which will include a free hot dog, chips and drink.

We hope to see you there on June 15^th at 6:00 p.m. on the Red Field.

Tournament of Champions started today, June 6th

Arden Little League is hosting (at Valley Oak Park) the Majors and Juniors Tournament of Champions beginning today, June 6th.

Juniors:
The Arden Junior Twins started their TOC play tonight. Unfortunately, they lost to the Carmichael Solons 12-2 in 6 innings. The Junior tournament is double-elimination, so the Twins will have another chance Thursday, June 10 Wednesday, June 9 at 5:30pm to stay in the tourney. Go Twins.

Majors:
Congratulations to the Major Yankees and Red Sox who will represent Arden in the District 5 – Major TOCs starting tomorrow.

• The Red Sox are the #2 team (for Arden) playing tomorrow, June 7 at 6:00pm
• The Yankees are the #1 team (for Arden) starting play Wednesday, June 8 at 6:00pm.

Minors:
Congratulations to the Minor Blue Jays and Twins representing Arden in the District 5 – Minor TOCs starting tomorrow at the Northridge Little League fields.

• The Blue Jays are the #1 team (for Arden) playing tomorrow, June 7 at 6:00pm.
• The Twins are the #2 team (for Arden) and start play Thursday, June 10th at 6:00pm.

Post Season Tournaments – We Need You

To All Arden Little League Families:

Arden has been given the honor of hosting the Tournament of Champions for the Juniors and Majors all the way through the district finals, and also the first round of the Major and Junior All-Stars for our area. These tournaments not only provide an opportunity to showcase our outstanding facilities, they are also significant fundraisers that support the league and our fields.

To successfully host these tournaments, we need your help. Specifically, we are in need for volunteers to staff our snack bar — especially over the next two weeks as the Junior and Major Tournament of Champions is held on the Red and White fields. We will host games each day from June 6 through June 16 and each day we need at least one adult to work the barbecue and three to work inside.

Weekday snack bar shifts need to be filled starting at 5 p.m., and Saturday shifts start at 9 a.m. and run through the conclusion of games starting at 10 a.m. If you can help, Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Catherine Smith-Moore, at casmith@smithmooreassoc.com or 483-1174, or our Snack Bar Coordinator, Samantha Smith, at quisam@sbcglobal.net or 484-1588, to arrange to volunteer. Games Called due to Rain

All games for May 25th have been called off due to rain.

Managers will contact parents with rescheduled game dates when available.

Minor Twins Clinch 2nd Half

With their win tonight, the Minor Twins have clinched the 2nd half.

Congratulations to the Twins and Blue Jays who will be representing Arden Little League in the 2010 Minor TOCs.

Fan Appreciation Day Success!

Minor Twins Hayden Johnson, Matt Enos and Wills Vlasek either enjoyed Fan Appreciation Day or were just practicing for their team pictures. Knowing the Minor Twins, I’m guessing they’re practicing for perfection. Thank you to Duffy Kelly for a great pic.

Arden Little League to field Senior level team

Arden Little League is preparing to field a Seniors level team open to players who meet the age requirements of Little League Age 14, 15 or 16. The team will play Tuesdays and Thursdays at American River College and Saturdays at the home fields of the participating Little Leagues. Play is schedule to begin May 22nd and run through late June or into early July. If you are interested in participating please contact Rich Callahan at rcallaha@usc.edu.

River Cats Day! Sunday, May 23rd

RIVER CATS DAY! SUNDAY, MAY 23RD

River Cats Little League day is Sunday, May 23rd @ 1:05 p.m. The Little League Day is a lot of fun for the kids, they get to participate in a pre-game parade, they also get to chat and ask questions with the Rivercats coach and players!

If you’re interested in attending this fun event, please get print and complete the order form and submit with payment to your team parent.

Fan Appreciation and Picture Day, May 1st

Just wanted to send out a reminder of what is going to be happening on May 1st for Arden Little League!

PANCAKE BREAKFAST:

Pancake breakfast starts at 8 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. There will be coffee, orange juice, pancakes, eggs and sausage. This is for every player and their family. No tickets required. There will be a check in at the front of the line with the team rosters. They will check the names off and number of family members having breakfast.

PICTURE DAY:

Picture Day – Everyone should have the picture day schedule. Please be sure to have this information to your team and the picture forms, so they may purchase more pictures if they desire. Be sure that they are in full uniform and on timeJ

ALSO FOR FAN APPRECIATION DAY:

We will also be having an obstacle course, a jumpy house, face painting, Black Hat Barry will be there making things out of balloons for the kids and snow cones for the kids to enjoy. Please be sure to let all of the team know what is in store for this FUN day!! This will start at 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

If you or any of your families have teenagers that can lend a hand on FAD, please let me know. I need extra hands for face painting and the jumpy houses.
