Arden Little League Fall Ball 2010

We have some exciting changes in store for our Fall Ball Instructional Program this season!
Responding to the feedback from players and families, all levels of the Fall Ball program
(Minors, Majors and Juniors) will play exclusively at our Valley Oak fields and we will not be
actively seeking other leagues to play against each week. [Note: depending on the number of
Junior division players, travel to other leagues may still occur.]

Additionally, the season will begin and end earlier in the year. The first games will be played
Sunday, August 22nd 29th and the last game will be October 3rd. All games will be played in the afternoon. Practices will be coordinated at a later date. If you cannot attend a practice or
a game it is no problem. But please be sure to notify your coach for planning purposes.

For Minors, nothing will change from last year. Teams will be created and a schedule will be set
to play each other once a week on the Blue Fields.

For Majors and Juniors, individual teams will not be formed at the outset. Building on a very successful “collective practice” idea from last year’s Majors group, participants will have an optional weekly practice all together as a group (one practice for Juniors and one for Majors).

On game days, Major players will arrive at the Red Field and Junior players will arrive at the White Field. Teams will be divided up on the spot and a game will be played. This will give the players an opportunity to have a variety of teammates throughout the season.

This new format will maximize playing time, lessen the competitive pressure and relieve the burden of travel during this busy time of year.

The cost to participate is $20 per player. You can sign up at the Valley Oak Snack Bar from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on July 28th or August 3rd. If you cannot attend that sign up opportunity, please print, complete, and mail the application and medical release form, along with $20, to Mike Maves at 1324 Fitch Way, Sacramento 95864.

Registration ends August 15. **There is still time to register, please submit forms and fee to Mike Maves as soon as possible**.

Each player will receive an Arden Little League Fall Ball hat. Minor players will play in Arden Fall Ball shirts that will be returned at the end of the season. Major and Junior players will wear their own uniform from a previous team, creating a colorful field of play. All players will need to wear baseball pants, socks and cleats.
