Fall/Winter Field Maintenance

Important Field Maintenance Alert!
Field maintenance is starting early for the 2010 Season.
The fields (at Valley Oak Park) are currently undergoing turf renovations. There should be no mid-week play on the Blue and Red fields (infield or outfield) or on the White infield and surrounds. We have over seeded these areas and we need several weeks to get the new turf up and ready for play next Spring. We will be able to play games on Sunday but we should try to limit all other play for the next three to four weeks. We will provide an update when the fields become available again.
The turf will be irrigated three times a day for just a couple of minutes each time, but you could get wet (not on Saturday or Sunday though).
We will also have a field work day in the next two weeks or so. The focus will be to prep the infields (skinned areas) for next Spring and to repair existing pitchers mounds and build one or two new ones. We will need help on Saturday afternoon (after soccer) and Sunday morning (before baseball) to get everything completed. A solid effort now will leave the fields playable with very little effort next Spring.
