Fall Ball 2009

May 14, 2009 by Ron Salvatori · Leave a Comment

With the first ever Minor Fall Ball Program in 2008 being a huge success with over 50 players participating, Arden Little League wants to do even better this fall! Minor Fall Ball has 3 major themes it abides by:

  • Player Development
  • Staying Low Key
  • Having Fun

Player Development

Many coaches agree that Fall Ball is a great way for those players moving up from the Farm Division make the transition into Minors. It is also a great way for players continuing in the Minors to keep their skills sharp. Many players try new positions during the Fall Ball season … Staying Low Key

Practices are generally very loose and based on skill development through repetition. Although attendance at practice in encouraged, all the volunteer coaches understand that many players are involved in other sports and activities too and most practices are voluntary.

Having Fun

Having fun is actually the main reason for Fall Ball. Fall Ball gives players the opportunity to stay in touch with baseball and keep having as much fun as they did during the regular season.

* NEW THIS YEAR – NO TRAVEL!*

The one improvement this year to the Minor Fall Ball program will be no travel. We would like to get at least as many players as we did last year and form 4 or more teams. These teams would play on the weekends (most often afternoons after soccer games) against each other at Valley Oak. Even if we fall short of 4 teams, we are committed to playing teams from our league, and not travel to other leagues for Minor Fall Ball.

Who Can Participate?

Any Arden Little League player who will be playing in the Minors next season, including current Farm Division players moving up or returning Minor Division players, may participate in Minor Fall Ball.

Where Can I Sign Up?

You will be able to leave your name and contact information so we can contact you when we have our official sign ups. There will be a small application fee to cover the costs of Fall Ball. Keep checking this Web site for additional announcements and more information in the summer, or e-mail us at JWH114@aol.com, and include the level of play your player will be playing in in the subject line. If you have not heard back from us by mid August, you should follow-up.
